How to connect speakers to PC / Laptop? Connect Speakers to PC or Laptop

Modern laptops with USB type C ports can connect directly to speakers which have a USB type C connection port such as the Creative Pebble. Laptops with only a headphone output can connect directly to speakers with a 3.5mm audio cable. For more robust sound, use an adapter cable with 3.5mm to RCA (white and red) to connect to a stereo receiver or audio video receiver analog audio inputs. Connect larger passive speakers to the speaker terminals on the receiver. Select the correct source on the receiver.

Can I play music wirelessly from my iPhone to my vintage stereo system?

Yes, you can use wireless Bluetooth from your iPhone to a Bluetooth receiver adapter connected to your stereo using the two RCA audio cables (white and red) from the adapter to the RCA analog audio input ports such as CD, AUX etc. on your stereo system.
You could also use Wi-Fi instead of Bluetooth. Apple Airplay enabled A/V receivers or the Apple TV box can be used
to connect to a stereo receiver. Make sure you are connected to the same Wi-Fi network.

My laptop has no CD/DVD drive. How can I play CDs or DVDs on the laptop?

You can buy an external CD/DVD drive which connects to the USB-A or USB-C port on your laptop. These drives are inexpensive and add the capability to play CDs or DVDs on your laptop using an app installed on the laptop. These optical drives are plug and play, no software drivers needed and get power from the usb port on the computer.
